Catherine was born in 1644 in Ambroise, Touraine, France.  Catherine's father was Jean Bergeron and her mother is Catherine Douaray.  Her paternal grandfather was Jean Bergeron and her paternal grandmother is Jeanne Beluche. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Jean, Antoine, Jacques, Thomas, Pierre, Louise and Marie.  She is the fourth youngest of the eight children.
