Phillipe Charles Melancon

Phillipe Charles was born in 1666 in Port Royal, l'Acadie, Nova Scotia. Phillipe Charles' father was Pierre Mellanson dit Laverdure and his mother was Marguerite Anne Mius d'Entremont. His paternal grandparents were Pierre dit LaVerdure and Priscilla Mallinson; his maternal grandparents were Philippe Mius d'Entremont and Madeline Helie. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Pierre, Jean Dominique, Paul Pierre, Cecile, Marie Madeleine, Marguerite, Isabelle Elizabeth, Madeleine Catherine and Anne Marie. He is the oldest of the ten children.

General Notes
- Philippe Melanson, had married Marie Dugas. Their house was located on the shore of the Gaspereau River in the village called Melanson - a picturesque location which is still admired today. Philippe also served as deputy for the region. His duty was to represent the interests of the Minas inhabitants in dealings with the British administration in Annapolis Royal. Both Marie and Philippe are buried in Grand-Pré’s cemetery.
