Marguerite was born in 1676 in Port Royal, l'Acadie, Nova Scotia.  Marguerite's father was Pierre Mellanson dit Laverdure and her mother was Marguerite Anne Mius d'Entremont.  Her paternal grandparents were Pierre dit LaVerdure and Priscilla Mallinson; her maternal grandparents were Philippe Mius d'Entremont and Madeline Helie. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Phillipe Charles, Pierre, Jean Dominique, Paul Pierre, Cecile, Marie Madeleine, Isabelle Elizabeth, Madeleine Catherine and Anne Marie.  She is the fifth oldest of the ten children.



Marguerite's first family

Marguerite and Alexandre were married in a religious ceremony in 1694 in St. Charles des Mines, Grand Pre, l'Acadie, Nova Scotia.


Marguerite's second family

Marguerite and Jean Baptiste were married in a religious ceremony in 1704 in St. Charles des Mines, Grand Pre, l'Acadie, Nova Scotia.
