Jean Dominique was born in 1681 in St. Charles des Mines, Grand Pre, l'Acadie, Nova Scotia.  Jean Dominique's father was Pierre Mellanson dit Laverdure and his mother was Marguerite Anne Mius d'Entremont.  His paternal grandparents were Pierre dit LaVerdure and Priscilla Mallinson; his maternal grandparents were Philippe Mius d'Entremont and Madeline Helie. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Phillipe Charles, Pierre, Paul Pierre, Cecile, Marie Madeleine, Marguerite, Isabelle Elizabeth, Madeleine Catherine and Anne Marie.  He was the fourth youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 79 on February 24th, 1760 in Cherbourg, Manche, Basse-Normandie, France.



Jean Dominique's family

Jean Dominique and Marie Marguerite were married in a religious ceremony on January 11th, 1701 in St. Charles des Mines, Grand Pre, l'Acadie, Nova Scotia.  They had six sons and four daughters, named Jean Baptiste, Paul, Pierre, Alexandre Miquoin, Jacques, Etienne, Marguerite, Marie Josephe (Josette), Madeleine and Cecile.
